A man accused of causing a 2006 crash that killed his 10-year-old daughter is facing charges of manslaughter, vehicular homicide and reckless driving, according to the Bradford County Sheriff's Office.

Ronald Marvin Homer, 40, was being held Thursday on a $125,000 bond at the Bradford County jail, the Sheriff's Office reported.

Homer, who is listed as having a Jacksonville address, was arrested Wednesday in St. Johns County.

On Dec. 27, 2006, Homer had been driving west on State Road 100 in Bradford County when officers reported he drove into oncoming traffic and hit another car.

Mallory Lee Homer, who had been riding in the left rear seat of the 1994 Honda, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to officers' reports at the time of the crash. Homer, his wife, Helina Homer, and the other motorist, Frances M. Tyer, were hospitalized for injuries.

Officers said Mallory Homer's parents may have been arguing when the crash occurred.

Dispatchers also had received calls prior to the crash that a vehicle was weaving on SR 100 and the passenger's door was being opened, as if the passenger was trying to get out or was being thrown out, the Sheriff's Office reported. That car was the Honda that Ronald Homer was driving at the time of the accident, the Sheriff's Office said.
